No glamour or fluff here—there are about 16 winches on board, so watch your step! This boat will appeal to true sailing enthusiasts. It’s a great example of how large top-tier racing yachts were built in the 70s. The yacht is in satisfactory condition considering its age.
In the 80s, this vessel raced around the world, and you can learn more about its history from the English/Spanish-speaking captain on board. The deck is fairly flat, with enough space to walk or sit. Inside, the accommodations are as minimalistic as it gets—and even a bit dirty—so it’s best to avoid going below deck unless necessary. We'll be cruising without sails and without swimming (both prohibited by the organizers; there are strict regulations for spectator boats). We'll depart from the central part of Barcelona.
Remember to bring sun protection—Panama hats with safety cords are recommended to prevent them from blowing away. Water and soft drinks will be provided. Bring motion sickness pills if you’re prone to seasickness. Departure is usually around 12:30-1:00 PM, with a return to port around 4:30-5:00 PM, depending on the weather and race schedule.
